Description:Locally common fleshy herb from an ovoid bulb, foliage slightly glaucous, fruits ripe, lying on ground. 
Habitat:Loam and humus; mesic upland forest at ridgetop, with Acer negundo, Acer saccharum, Alliaria petiolata, Mertensia virginica, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, Quercus rubra, Scilla sibirica, Solidago flexicaulis, Tilia americana, Ulmus americana.
