Description 23 May 2008 (flower), 1 July 2008 (fruit). 6-ribbed tree to 8–10 m, branching mostly basal; old stems spineless or spines <1 cm; fruit red, eventually splitting; saplings blue-glaucous, with 6 cm long yellow spines.
