Locality USA. California , San Bernardino Co. : Vicinity of the San Andreas Fault, E side of Swarthout Canyon Road along Cajon Creek S of its crossing, San Bernardino National Forest, San Bernardino Mountains; W of Route I-15. 34° 16' 29" N 117° 27' 8" W
Description Common annual herb, flowers pale magenta-pink with darker stripes on petals, leaves mostly basal, erect, stems prostrate, fruits erect; size of plant extremely variable.
Habitat Margins of wash with boulders of metamorphic, granitic gneiss, schist substrate, well-drained sand, gravel; margin of chaparral, shrubland, in creek wash; Dominants: Eriogonum fasciculatum, Platanus racemosa, Lupinus spp., Eriodictyum trichocalyx.
