Locality Mexico. Veracruz , Catemaco Mun. : Vicinity of Playa Escondida, 10 km N of Sontecomapan; on slopes above Hotel Playa Escondida and the beach. 18° 36' 0" N 95° 2' 60" W
Description Tree 10 m tall, 30 cm in diameter; bark very shallowly furrowed, nearly smooth, with some slash marks; sap milky; twigs thick, with clusters of wand-like flowering twigs 0.5-1 m long at tips; mostly deciduous (an unusually dry year); inflorescences pale yellow.
Habitat Selva alta perennifolia; evergreen tropical forest, some cleared for pastures on slopes above hotel.
