Eupatorium recurvans (putative diploid) is sometimes recognized as a separate species from E. mohrii (putative autopolyploid), but is included in synonymy here following Schilling & Grubbs (2016), who stated morphology was not reliable to distinguish two such species (except perhaps for pollen viability analyses).
