The name U. subquadripara has often been applied to material in Florida (e.g. FNA, vol. 25), its distinction from U. distachya has oft been questioned. Sosef (2016) chose to recognize only U. distachya, with the other as synonym, observing "an almost continuous grade" between the alleged forms.
