Lagerstroemia indica L.
CRAPEMYRTLE
**
Lagerstroemia fauriei is allegedly hybridized with L. indica to create some cultivars. However, the name L. fauriei was considered possibly synonymous with L. glabra, a species with 12 or more calyx ridges, unlike L. indica with six superficial, slightly developed calyx ridges evanescent on the calyx tube (Furtado & Srisuko 1969).
