| Description: | Achene obovatge, apex rounded 0.9-1.1 mm wide, not umbonate, but with a central pale area as in Rhynchospora glomerata. |
| Habitat: | Seepage slope cleared from evergreen acid seep forest; community dominated by Rhynchospora chalarocephala, R. gracilenta, and Juncus trigonocarpus. Soils - Meadowbrook (Grossarenic Ochraqualfs). |
