Habitat: | Open wooded low knoll with a mature Pinus clausa overstory, the understory apparently cleared in recent years; with young growth of Quercus geminata, Q. chapmanii, Osmanthus megacarpus, Ilex ambigua, Vitis rotundifolia, Serenoa repens, Persea, and Myrica, and with occasional Carya glabra var. megacarpa [C. glabra], Q. incana, longleaf pine [Pinus palustris], and with Baccharis halimifolia, Rhus copallinum, Callicarpa americana, and persimmon [Diospyros virginiana] as scattered weeds. |
