Description:Treelet 5 m tall, with few stems in a tight clump, but gets to 18 cm diameter here, this individual had probably previously been cut back to the base and then resprouted, the wood specimen from stems5 cm in diameter and 8 years old; inflorescence horizontal-arching, yellow-green. 
Habitat:Flat, dominated to Pinus palustris, wiith some shrubs; with Ilex coriacea, Cliftonia monophylla, Hypericum microcephalum, Lyonia ferruginea.

Description:Treelet 9 m tall, to 20 cm in diameter here when not burned nor mechanically cut back under power line, this stem c. 20 years old; abundant here and mostly much shorter but these also fruiting; bark tight, the surface so covered with lichens and hepatics that actual color not apparent; inflorescence horizontal-arching; fruit immature, hanging, yellow-green. 
Habitat:Flat, pinus palustris with prescribed burning, and more shrubby areas near power line clearing; with Cliftonia monophylla, Ilex glabra, Lyonia fruticosa, and Cyrilla racemiflora.
