Habitat: | Soggy, organic rich soil and on moist, exposed tree roots in association with Carex bromoides, Thelypteris normalis [T. kunthii], Woodwardia areolata, Itea virginica, and Commelina diffusa under a dense canopy of floodplain forest dominated by Magnolia virginiana, Acer, Liquidambar, Carpinus, and Nyssa. |
