Description:Herbs to 4 in. tall, usually shorter; locally common. 
Habitat:White sand in a disturbed roadside ditch below an old dune, with Rhynchelytrum [Melinis] repens, Cenchrus sp., Pinus clausa, Quercus inopina, Q. geminata, Licania michauxii, Sabal etonia, Eryngium cuneifolium, Opuntia humifusa, Smilax laurifolia, Cassytha filiformis, Prunus geniculata, Ximenia americana, Cladonia pachycladodes, C. prostrata, Cladina evansii, Bumelia tenax [Sideroxylon tenax], Centhrus sp., Nolina brittoniana, Polygonella fimbriata, Pityopsis graminifolia, Selaginella arenicola, and Persea humilis [P. borbonia var. humilis].
