Description:Locally common erect herb to 1.2 m; flowers whitish green. 
Habitat:Barrier island with areas of significant human disturbance, lacking a signnificant ridge; canopy mostly of Sabal palmetto, with some Ficus aurea and many Brazilian pepper [Schinus terebinthifolia], along with one pine, a few saw palmetto [Serenoa repens], and one canopy-height Hercules-Club [Zanthoxylum clava-herculis].
