Habitat: | Alluvial soil, moist to wet clay loam, stream-river terrace; floodplain forest, relatively undisturbed and diverse, with Fraxinus pennsylvania, Quercus spp., Carya laciniosa, Acer saccharinum, Ilex decidua, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Cornus drummondii; in shade, more common to SE of forest stand. |
