Description:Slend erect stem 8 m tall, 4.8 cm in diameter, apparently normally in few-stemmed clumps; rings difficult to count and perhaps not strictly annual; flowers white. 
Habitat:Wet hammocky area with Taxodium and Sphagnum, in a sandy flat, with pole-sized Pinus palustrism maintained by prescribed burning, brushy (especially along lower portion), with Lyonia lucida, Vaccinium corymbosum, Gaylussacia mosieri, Hypericum microsepalum, Itea virginica, Serenoa repens, and Pteridium aquilinum.
