Description:Shrublets to 0.8 m tall, stems to 0.6 cm in diameter, bark smooth; flowers white, corolla hanging. 
Habitat:Flat, sandy, pole-size Pinus palustris, maintained by prescribed burning, brushy (especially along lower portion); with Lyonia lucida, Vaccinium corymbosum, Gaylussacia mosieri, Hypericum microsepalum, Itea virginica, Serenoa repens, and Pteridium aquilinum.
