Description: | Slender, erect shrublets to 1 m tall, to 0.5 cm in diameter, much-branched at the top; bark finely flaky; flowers bright yellow, odorless (1:30 PM, sunny). |
Habitat: | Flat, sandy, pole-size Pinus palustris, maintained by prescribed burning, brushy (especially along lower portion), with Lyonia lucida, Vaccinium corymbosum, Gaylussacia mosieri, Hypericum microsepalum, Itea virginica, Serenoa repens, and Pteridium aquilinum. |
