Description:Shrub with small woody trunk and few stems arching 3 m into adjacent trees; Crushed foliage has no particular odor. 
Habitat:Edge of a small hardwood hammock near the center of a mongrove-dominated island; associates in sandy soil of hammock are large, old specimens of Sabal palmetto, Bursera simaruba, Sideroxylon foetidissimum, Krugiodendron ferreum, Guapira discolor, Quadrella jamaicensis, and Simarouba glauca.
