Habitat: | Plateau, ancient basalt lava flow, outcrop and boulders of basalt, soil mostly a sandy-loam; ridgetop with intermittent drainage; evergreen chaparral, recently cleared and burned; less disturbed areas densely vegetated with Xylococcus bicolor, Ceanothus crassifolia, Rhus laurina, Adenostoma, Eriogonum fasciculatum; disturbed areas dominated by Lotus hamatus, Trifolium microcephalum, Vulpia, Bromus; mixed with Stellaria pallida; E-facing slope on W side of drainage opposite hot fore zone. |
