Description:Plants to 7 ft. tall; corolla dark pink; each specimen one of a series of ca. 40 specimens, each from a different plant. 
Habitat:Very gently sloping area from edge of sandhill vegetation into edge of swamp.

Habitat:Low swale in shrubby unburned slash pine [Pinus elliottii] plantation; associates include Lyonia ferruginea, Vaccinium atrococcum [V. corymbosum], V. darrowii, V. myrsinites, Ilex coriacea, I. glabra, Cliftonia monophylla, Serenoa repens, Symplocos tinctoria, Gaylussacia dumosa, and Hypericum microsepalum. Soils - Plummer (Grossarenic Paleaquults).
