Contains 3 accepted taxa overall.

Family:MYRTACEAE
Genus: Melaleuca L.
Common Name:MELALEUCA
Genus Notes:The arrangement of the stamens has been found to be an inadequate distinction between Callistemon and Melaleuca, and thus Melaleuca was expanded to include Callistemon (Craven 2006). Many other genera have been subsumed into Melaleuca based on DNA studies (Craven et al. 2014). However, the taxonomy of Melaleuca is still under revision and some prefer to retain Callistemon for a certain group of Australian species (Udovicic & Spencer 2012).
