Plant Notes:The application and use of O. dillenii as being distinct from O. stricta is presently unclear. The study of Opuntia stricta in Sri Lanka (where it is invasive) found the endophyte Fusarium producing the alkaloid equisetin (Ratnaweera et al. 2015).
